Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS)

Web site created for Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS), a nonprofit, scientific and educational organization working to improve women’s lives through advancing and supporting feminist sociological research, activism and scholars.

Details: Project was an extensive redesign of an existing website created in the early 90s, and featured a highly customized Joomla! site theme. Over 150 “pages” of content were migrated from existing database and reorganized within a new and expanded menu structure and hierarchy. A password-protected “Members Only” section was created and EventBrite calendars were integrated within site for conference ticket sales. Photo slideshows, jQuery sliders and front page modules (SWS Bookshelf, Network News) were added and customized to provide for easy updating by client. Joomla! tutorials were provided and Skype video conference calls were utilized for additional training sessions.
